Translavic wins a translation contract with the EU Publications Office

On 1 August 2017, Translavic signed a framework contract with the Publications Office of the European Union. The contract relates to translation and revision services for the Community Research and Development Information Service (CORDIS). The contract is for five years and has an estimated value of 6 500 000 EUR.

Since 1990, CORDIS has been the European Commission’s primary public service to disseminate information on the results of all EU-funded research projects among EU citizens and stakeholders. Translavic will provide the Publications Office with German, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish translations of English texts, mainly in connection with scientific and technical documents. Carefully selected specialist translators and revisers will work on a broad range of texts, including summaries of ongoing research projects, factsheets, reports, magazines, news articles and information on research-related events.

The managing director of Translavic, Jeroen Hesp, said, “Since Translavic started in 2004, we have built up a solid expertise in translation services for European institutions. Working on this new contract is a natural step in our development. We are excited to work as a direct partner of the Publications Office and to cooperate with its staff and contractors of other CORDIS lots.”

On 28 September, a group of four Translavic representatives travelled to Luxembourg to attend the first inter-lot meeting at the Publications Office. The project is currently in the take-over phase. During the meeting, the participants talked about what is needed in order to prepare for the actual start of the work in February 2018.
