Translator and reviser Arta graduated from the Faculty of Translation at Ventspils University College in Latvia, specialising in translation and interpreting.
She started her work life as a teacher of English, while also working as a volunteer translator and interpreter for several companies, state institutions and NGOs, gaining a very diverse experience. Later she started collaborating with translation agencies and now has fifteen years’ experience as a freelance translator.
Arta joined the Translavic team in 2007 and since then has been involved in various translation projects and summaries of EU legal acts. She works with the language combinations English-Latvian and Russian-Latvian. Her native language is Latvian and she speaks fluent English and Russian.
In her free time Arta loves travelling and being as active as possible — hiking, cycling, skiing and canoeing. She also likes reading good books and writing old-fashioned handwritten letters to pen pals in various countries.
